Can someone confirm the mobile broadband settings so I can set up my connection under linux?

I'm after APN, username etc.

Username = faster OR o2web
Password = password
Dial-up number = *99# OR *99***1#
APN = mobile.o2.co.uk
DNS servers if you need em = 193.113.200.201 and 193.113.200.201

Linux installation instructions from Novatel, see if they work for you.

plus this additional step as the dongle is dual purpose so you need to eject it when it appears as a memory card before it will be recognised as a modem.

EDIT: or try this, http://www.novamedia.de/e_pages/e_produkte_linux_l2n.html
works with Macs for O2 I'm told and they have a linux version

Ah that explains something - I've got it to work fine under linux but Intrepid linux (runs natively with no messing around needed) uses the "faster" settings which I wasn't familar with and I wanted to check here... thanks for clearing it up.

plus this additional step as the dongle is dual purpose so you need to eject it when it appears as a memory card before it will be recognised as a modem.

Yeah - if anyone is wondering how to do this linux because they want to try it's

sudo eject /dev/sr0

Thanks.
